One Sentence Rule

9 08 2009

When I don’t have time to review the first minute of a song from the Billboard Top 200, one sentence should suffice.

CTE Singer

I know. I made the same face.

Cage The Elephant – “Ain’t No Rest For The Wicked”:

Some hipster with a pale face and a bad haircut sings like G. Love while his buddy rips off Beck’s “Loser” on guitar.

Lady Gaga

She's so futuristic!

Lady GaGa – “Love Game”:

Lady Gaga gets groped on the train in the video and sings lyrics that sound like they came from an I Can Haz Cheezburger picture.

Pictured here counting to the number three.

Pitbull – “I Know You Want Me”:

Some skinhead counts to the number four, or quattro, in both English and Spanish.

Jordin Sparks

Jordin Sparks – “Battlefield”:

If love is like a battlefield, man the harpoons!

Mat Kearney – “Closer To Love”:

Make Trade Fair.

After years of trying to make it in the music business, Kearney’s first time on the Billboard charts was only a producer credit for Chris Martin’s new single “Closer To Love.”
